“Stars & Stripes” Retreat Fee: $175, payable to MMU
Includes ballroom fees/scrapping space, retreat tee-shirt, 2 catered lunches, and a Friday night dessert bar at the luxurious Starr Pass resort. You can participate in page layout contests, be eligible for our deluxe door prizes, and of course, scrap your heart out.
Starr Pass has given us an incredible group room rate - $109 per night plus taxes (approximately $125 per night), payable to Starr Pass Resort. You may book up to four people in a room, making it only $31.25 per person, per night. Take advantage of their world-class facilities – fitness center, pool, whirlpools, and Lazy River (plus gorgeous views of the city!)

Where is this fancy resort anyway? JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort is about 20 minutes west of MMU (less than 10 miles) in the gorgeous Tucson Mountains.

Can I bring my own food to my room? There is a mini-frig in your room, as well as a coffee-maker. But why would make your own coffee when there’s a full-service Starbucks in the lobby?!! There are microwaves available upon request.

I’ve heard the Spa at Starr Pass is amazing. How do I book a treatment? Call the resort at 792-3500 and ask for the Hashani Spa. You won’t regret it!.

Who do I contact at MMU if I have a question? You may sign-up for the retreat with any MMU team member, but if you have a specific question, call Katie at 319-5886 and she will be able to answer that for you.

I have bad knees. Will there be a lot of stairs to navigate with my scrapbook supplies? There are elevators or escalators leading to every floor.

I am a very loyal customer at MMU and have a lot of supplies. How big will my scrapping space be? Each guest will have a 2’ x 8’ table to work on.

What time does the Retreat start on Friday? Feel free to begin scrapbooking in the Ballroom as early as noon, but our official Retreat kick-off is at 5:00 pm. Room check-in is at 4:00 pm. The Retreat will end Sunday at 5:00 pm.

In the past, I’ve put down a deposit to hold my spot. Can I do that for this retreat? The $175 fee to MMU is due when you sign up, but the room fees will not be charged to your card until the Retreat. We will be accepting reservations until June 15th, so start your “Starr Pass retreat” savings account today. This event will fill up, so don’t wait to reserve your spot.

Will there be water service in the Ballroom? There will be water pitchers and ice provided.

Will there be music in the Ballroom? Because of different musical tastes, we are encouraging people to bring their own portable music choices. To be respectful of those around you, speakers should be at a volume that can only be heard within the radius of your group. Or, enjoy chatting with your scrapping buddies.

Will I have an electrical plug for my lamp or electronic scrapbooking tools? There are electrical outlets around the perimeter of the Ballroom. We are encouraging people to bring an extension cord and power strip to connect to your table.

How is the parking situation at the Resort? Self-park at the Resort is $10 a day in their covered parking garage. We encourage you to carpool to save on parking fees.
